But the Newton native exceeds expectations abetted by a stellar cast headed by his wife, Emily Blunt, and youngsters Noah Jupe ("The Undoing") and the magnificent Millicent Simmonds ("Wonderstruck"). It’s a tall order for writer-director John Krasinski to match his 2018 sci-fi-horror hit and the impressive $341 million it scared up. There’s no vaccine to ward off auditory predators.
